Is Government Committee In Tollywood Inevitable?

Unfortunately, the exploitation of girls in exchange for money and opportunities is not a new issue in the entertainment industry; it's been ongoing for years.

Many in smaller roles fall prey to the lure of financial gain. While this is not always the case, numerous incidents are reported.

Some actresses even demand cars, flats, or monthly support instead of direct payments. As long as these arrangements go smoothly, problems are kept under wraps, but issues arise when things fall apart.

Preferences and priorities shift over time, leading to dissatisfaction. As a result, one party may feel abandoned and lash out, sparking an uproar. Unfortunately, despite the noise, little action is taken, and no one faces real consequences.

The problem intensifies when financial transactions turn into denials of opportunities or withholding of association membership cards.

At this point, government intervention is essential, as internal film industry committees lack the authority to deliver justice.

The recent press meet held by the committee is a prime example of inaction. They remained silent for 15 days, only stepping forward after the victim went to the police. Such actions seem motivated by a desire to avoid criticism rather than to address the issue.

When complaints are filed with industry bodies, they often get buried. Both parties are called in for reconciliation, but the outcome is rarely made public. This allows powerful individuals to escape accountability, which is not right. The truth must come out, and the government should ensure transparency.

To address this issue effectively, a committee made up of IAS and IPS officers is necessary. These strict authorities should handle complaints, conduct inquiries, and make decisions that bring real accountability to Tollywood. The current film associations serve little purpose beyond diluting the seriousness of these crimes.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, known for making bold decisions, should consider taking similar action to reform the industry and address these issues head-on.
