As expected, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao boycotted the pre-Ugadi celebrations hosted by Governor Tamilisai Soundarrajan at Raj Bhavan on Friday evening.
Though the Governor sent an official invitation to the chief minister, his cabinet colleagues and prominent leaders of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi, none of them attended the Pre-Ugadi celebrations at Raj Bhavan.
Only leaders of the various opposition parties took part in the customary celebrations on the eve of Ugadi.
Interestingly, even senior officials of the government including chief secretary Somesh Kumar skipped the celebrations hosted by Governor, caring a damn for the protocol.
Obviously, when the chief minister himself doesn’t want to go to the function, no TRS leader or official would dare attend the event as it would only annoy him.
Tamilisai, however, took it easy, as she expected it. She has done her duty as it would have become controversial had she not invited KCR and his cabinet colleagues, besides officials. So, the blame will now go only on to KCR.
Speaking at the event later, Tamilisai said as the Governor of a state, she was very much aware of her limits and she would never exceed the limits.
“At the same time, nobody can dictate terms to me and control me. I know what I am supposed to do,” she said.
The Governor said she had set up the Grievance Cell at Raj Bhavan only to understand the people’s problems so that she could refer the same to the government for a solution.
“I have no ego issues. I only know how to be cordial with everybody,” she said.
Stating that Raj Bhavan is meant for the welfare of the people, Tamilisai said she would restart Praja Darbar from the next month to interact with various sections of the people.
