Chief of the Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), A V Ranganath, urged the public to exercise caution when purchasing ‘farm plots’ during the Prajavani grievance redressal program on Monday.
He highlighted complaints received regarding the unauthorized sale of plotted farmland, which violates existing regulations.
According to the Telangana Municipalities Act, 2019, and the Telangana Panchayat Raj Act, 2018, layouts cannot be developed in farmland without proper authorization.
Citing multiple cases of illegal developments on the city’s outskirts, Mr. Ranganath clarified that farmland should have a minimum area of 2,000 square meters or 20 guntas.
One such complaint brought to his attention involved the unauthorized sale of ‘farm plots’ in Lakshmiguda village, Rajendranagar mandal.
During the Prajavani session, HYDRAA received a total of 64 complaints, including issues related to road blockages, encroachments on parks, and unauthorized use of open spaces.
