After a brief lull for a few months, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government led by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has once again started targeting his erstwhile cabinet colleague and present BJP MLA Eatala Rajender on the charges of land encroachments.
The revenue department authorities on Monday served notices on Rajender’s poultry farms at Hakimpet village of Masaipet mandal in Medak district asking their explanation on the allegations of land encroachments.
The development comes in the wake of the recent by-election to Huzurabad assembly seat, which was won by Rajender with a handsome majority of nearly 24,000 votes over his nearest TRS rival G Srinivasa Yadav.
Apparently, KCR wants to send Rajender behind the bars, so that he would not see the latter’s face in the assembly.
Toopran Revenue Divisional Officer served notices to Rajender’s wife Jamuna Reddy, son Nithin Reddy and others, stating that the department would conduct a survey from November 16 to 18 in the said survey number in the village, where the family set up Jamuna Hatcheries.
Following the instructions of the RDO, the Revenue Department officials pasted notices at Jamuna Hatcheries buildings besides handing over the notices to several other farmers from Hakimpet, who were having lands in the said survey number.
Medak Collector S Harish said the officials had found some encroachments in government lands and ceiling lands by Jamuna Hatcheries during a preliminary survey in June.
However, the survey had to be stopped as the Jamuna Hatcheries filed a writ plea in the High Court.
He further said the court had asked them to stop the survey because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Stating that the court asked them to postpone the survey for three months, the Collector said they had decided to carry out the survey as the district had recorded zero Covid cases.
