Bharatiya Janata Party Telangana unit on Monday described as a foolish act the latest resolution passed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation led by Telangana Rashtra Samithi against Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens.
BJP spokesperson K Krishnasagar Rao said the resolution publicly exposed intellectual and political bankruptcy of the TRS and Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.
“The GHMC mayor, deputy mayor and all the TRS and MIM members who voted for it have only made fools of themselves by passing a resolution against a central legislation at the local body level. More so, the GHMC has nothing to do with neither the city nor its administration,” he said.
Rao said the CAA literally had no impact at GHMC level, leave alone anywhere in Telangana state. NRC is a figment of imagination of moronic minority appeasers, as there's neither a bill nor a law so far on national NRC. Only GHMC mayor and his deputy should explain how one can pass a resolution against a national law which is non-existent, he said.
“In a mad rush to please their bosses, both mayor and his deputy have done the unthinkable. They have become the first local body in the entire country to pass this type of a resolution to make themselves a laughing stock,” the BJP spokesman said.
