It looks like the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) led by former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is facing the same situation which the Congress had faced in 2014 and 2018.
In less than two months of the Congress coming to power, it appears the BRS legislators are evincing interest in defecting to the ruling party, just as the Congress MLAs defected en masse to the BRS (then TRS) in 2014 and 2018.
On Tuesday, four BRS MLAs – Sunitha Lakshma Reddy from Narsapur, Kotha Prabhakar Reddy from Dubbak, Gudem Mahipal Reddy from Patancheru and K Manik Rao from Zaheerabad came to the residence of Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy.
They felicitated Revanth Reddy with shawls and bouquets. Though they said it was just a courtesy call, it is pretty clear that they are interested in jumping the fence sooner or later to join the Congress.
It was quite obvious that they would not have come to the chief minister so casually. And the Congress party released the pictures to the media without any loss of time, much to the irritation of the BRS.
Watch out for more developments on this front.
