Eight in race for CM post, says Revanth!

Aloo ledu, chooloo ledu, koduku peru Somalingam.. (No wife, no pregnancy, but son’s name is Somalingam) – goes an age-old saying in Telugu.

This seems to the state of affairs in the Congress party in Telangana. Of course, the party has already reached a decisive stage, as the pace of polling in the assembly elections is picking up fast by afternoon.

And it is only a matter of time that the fate of the Congress party will be sealed in the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). It has to wait for another three days to find out what is going to happen to the party.

But Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president A Revanth Reddy has already started talking about the chief ministerial candidate, if the party comes to power in the state in the elections.

He was reacting to the question whether he is going be the front runner for the CM post, if the party wins the elections.

“I cannot say. There are as many as eight Congress leaders who are in the race for the chief minister post,” he said.

Stating that he is only a team leader of the party at present, Revanth Reddy said it is for the high command to decide who is going to be the chief minister.

“Whoever the party decides, he or she will become the CM,” he said.

But who are the eight CM aspirants?

Well, apart from Revanth Reddy, the other contenders are: N Uttam Kumar Reddy, K Jana Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, T Jeevan Reddy, Renuka Chowdary and Damodar Rajanarasimha.

Let us see how many of them will win the elections and be the contender for the CM post, provided the Congress comes to power!
