Till the other day, several Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders were singing paeans for party working president and state Information Technology minister K T Rama Rao, describing as the future of Telangana.
Right from ministers like Eatala Rajender, Talasani Srinivasa Yadav and Errabelli Dayakar Rao to several MLAs to former mayor Bonthu Rammohan – everybody was pitching for KTR as the next chief minister.
Leaders like deputy speaker T Padma Rao also extended “advance congratulations” to KTR in his presence, while many others said KTR had all the capabilities of leading the state. Congratulatory messages also poured in from all parts in the social media.
But after KCR announced a few days ago that there is no question of stepping down and making anybody else as the CM and even warning that if anybody comes up with a such a talk, he would be kicked out of the party, all these voices have become silent.
And on Wednesday, when KCR turned 68 years, the same TRS leaders who earlier ran after KTR, had competed with one another in showering praises on the chief minister.
“KCR should become Prime Minister and lead the nation in the right direction,” a TRS leader said.
State animal husbandry minister Talasani Srinivasa Yadav, who supported KTR as CM demand till recently, was the first person to come forward to celebrate KCR’s birthday in a big way at Jalavihar on the Necklace road. He cut a huge cake, planted saplings and launched a video presentation on the life history of KCR.
Yadav also presented a golden saree weighing 2.5 kgs to Goddess Yellamma at Balkampet on behalf of KCR’s daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha. The golden saree, was donated by TRS leader Kuna Venkatesh Goud from Sanathnagar.
