Don't drag Tollywood into politics, Dil Raju tells KTR

Telangana Film Development Corporation (FDC) chairman Dil Raju on Tuesday expressed disappointment over the comments made by Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president and former minister K T Rama Rao regarding the meeting of the Telugu film industry representatives with chief minister A Revanth Reddy last week.

Taking to X, Dil Raju requested politicians, without naming KTR, not to drag the Telugu film industry into politics.

“The meeting with the chief minister was not a secret one held with just one or two people. It was conducted transparently and is known to everyone,” he said.

The FDC chairman said the Telugu film industry was extremely satisfied with the meeting, which was held in a very friendly manner without any secrecy.

The chief minister recognized the industry's contribution to Telangana's growth and requested us to play our part in the state's development and social welfare.

“We, as representatives of the film industry, wholeheartedly welcomed the chief minister's strong determination to make Hyderabad a global entertainment hub,” he said.

He said the Tollywood humbly requests everyone not to drag the film industry into unnecessary controversies or attribute baseless political motives to it.

“We urge all not to use the film industry for political attacks and counter-attacks,” he said.

Dil Raju said the film industry, which provides livelihoods to lakhs of people, will continue to receive support from all governments and encouragement from the public.

On Monday, the BRS working president commented on the issue involving actor Allu Arjun again, stating that Revanth Reddy was bringing up film personalities only for publicity and to divert public attention from real issues.

KTR accused the chief minister of acting out of a need for attention and diversion. He alleged that Revanth Reddy had already settled matters with film personalities and is now remaining silent.
