The Telangana government on Saturday gave clean chit to Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen floor leader in the assembly Akbarudddin Owaisi in connection with his alleged inflammatory comments made against Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bharatiya Janata Party.
A statement to this effect was issued by Karimnagar commissioner of police V B Kamalasan Reddy. He asserted that there were no offensive, hostile or inciting or comments constituting hatred in Akbaruddin’s speech in Karimnagar.
He said the police had referred Akbaruddin’s video clippings to the legal experts who examined the same, along with the translated script of the speech.
With the experts pointing out to no wrong doing on the AIMIM leader’s part during his speech, there was no question of registering any cases against him as was being demanded by some, Kamalasan Reddy said.
He also appealed to people from all sections to maintain calm in the light of these findings and cooperate with the police.
