As expected, rebellious Congress leader and state legislative council member Chintapandu Naveen Kumar alias Teenmaar Mallanna was on Saturday suspended from the party for his anti-party activities and crossing the party line.
In a statement, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee’ disciplinary committee chairman and former minister G Chinna Reddy said the committee had served show cause notice to Teenmaar Mallanna on February 5 for indulging in anti-party activities.
“The disciplinary action committee asked you to submit your explanation on or before February 12. But the committee has not received your explanation so far and again you are continuing your tirade against the Congress Party repeatedly,” Chinna Reddy said.
Hence, the Disciplinary Action Committee, has decided to suspend Chintapandu Naveen Kumar alias Teenmaar Mallanna from the Congress Party keeping in view of your anti-party activities, the former minister added.
Known for his controversial comments, Teenmaar Mallanna has been creating tremors in the party right from the beginning, attacking the upper caste leaders and calling for making a Backward Classes leader as the chief minister of Telangana.
In a recent interview to a television channel, Mallanna lashed out at the Congress party for ignoring the BCs. He declared that Revanth Reddy would be the last OC (Other Caste) chief minister of Telangana.
He also found fault with the latest caste survey conducted by the Revanth Reddy government and said it was completely flawed and a fraud. He claimed that 90% of Telangana's population belongs to SC, ST, minorities, or BC communities.
"The survey results show something else. Our leader says one thing, but what is happening here is something different-this is fake. Though it is being called a survey, it was not conducted comprehensively," he said, adding that only a BC government that can carry out an honest survey.
