Actress-turned- Congress leader and former MP M Vijayashanti, who has been confined to her home and posting tweets in the social media, fumed at Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for raising the communal violence bogey to target the opposition.
In her tweet, Vijayashanti alleged that the “CM Doragaaru” has colluded with All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi to hatch a conspiracy to see that the opposition parties were not in fray in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections.
“Obviously, the TRS chief is worried about the aggressive campaign of the opposition parties in the elections. That is why, he started talking about the possible communal violence, so that he can get the opposition candidates arrested in the last minute,” she alleged.
Vijayashanti asked why the TRS government and the police were not taking any action against the MIM leaders who were making provocative and communal speeches.
“Instead, they are targeting the parties which challenged the MIM using the police forces,” she alleged.
The firebrand leader said hitherto KCR had been adopting the strategy of hijacking the contesting opposition party candidates or engineering defection of victorious opposition candidates into the TRS.
“Now, he has realised that his tactics are not going to work out in the GHMC elections. So, he is trying to see that strong opposition candidates were arrested in the name of protection of law and order. Unfortunately, the police machinery has become a pawn in this conspiracy. This in unpardonable,” she said.
