BRS drags Ravi Prakash to court

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has decided to take legal action against V Ravi Prakash, the founder and chief executive officer of TV9 channel, for allegedly spreading false claims about the BRS's supposed merger with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao has issued a legal notice through his lawyer to RTV, a YouTube channel, and its president Ravi Prakash, accusing them of broadcasting misleading news about a merger between the BRS and the BJP.

The media outlet has been instructed to remove the false content from its YouTube channel and social media accounts and to issue an unconditional apology.

In the notice, the BRS has also demanded that RTV and Ravi Prakash cease publishing defamatory, slanderous, and libelous reports intended to damage the party’s reputation.

"The company has been warned against engaging in any further malicious actions against the party. If the company does not comply with these demands within five days, the BRS will initiate legal action for defamation, slander, and libel," the notice stated.

The BRS has accused RTV and Ravi Prakash of spreading false news with malicious intent, lacking evidence, and based on speculation and unfounded allegations.

The party alleges that RTV and Prakash have been persistently airing false claims about a merger with the BJP for personal and political gain.

Additionally, the BRS criticized the media organization for presenting the false news as exclusive and unprecedented, further confusing the public.
