BJP Forces Jana Sena To Drop Out In GHMC Polls!

BJP Forces Jana Sena To Drop Out In GHMC Polls!

Jana Sena Party headed by power star Pawan Kalyan has finally decided to drop out from contesting the elections to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to be held on December 1.

A decision to this effect was taken by Pawan Kalyan after a meeting with senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders – Union minister of state for home G Kishan Reddy and former state BJP president and OBC Morcha president G Lakshman on Friday.

The meeting was held at the residence of Jana Sena Party political affairs committee chairman and former assembly speaker Nadendla Manohar. The meeting went on for over an hour, party sources said.

Apparently, the BJP leaders convinced Pawan Kalyan over the need for the BJP to fight the elections independently without any alliance. They told him how it is going to be counter productive for the BJP if Jana Sena contests the elections.

After the meeting, Pawan declared that his party won’t contest the elections to the GHMC and that it would extend its full support to the BJP candidates.

It was only a couple of days ago that Jana Sena Party chief issued a statement stating that his party would go it alone in the GHMC elections, irrespective of its alliance with the BJP.

Apparently, he was hurt by the BJP’s unilateral decision to contest the GHMC polls independently without even consulting him.

He decided to field candidates in at least 40 divisions but now he dropped out completely after holding talks with the BJP leaders.
