Telangana Rashtra Samithi working president and state municipal administration and IT minister K T Rama Rao on Wednesday described the Bharatiya Janata Party corporators of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation as “thugs” and “hooligans.”
Reacting sharply to the attack by the BJP corporators on the office of GHMC mayor on Tuesday, KTR said the vandalism by the BJP leaders was highly condemnable.
The minister said ‘some thugs and hooligans of BJP in Hyderabad’ had vandalised the GHMC office.
“I strongly condemn this atrocious behavior. Guess it’s too much to ask Godse Bhakts to behave in a Gandhian manner,” he tweeted, asking the City Police Commissioner to take the ‘strictest’ action on the vandals as per law.
The BJP corporators on Tuesday barged into the chambers of Mayor G Vijayalakshmi and other officers in the GHMC head office and ransacked them. They were trying to protest against non-release of funds by the GHMC for the developmental works.
In the process, they vandalised the premises and even sprayed black paint on the GHMC logo apart from damaging furniture, electronic equipment and flowerpots.
