Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party president Bandi Sanjay on Tuesday declared that he was ready for the challenge thrown by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Telangana Rashtra Samithi working president K T Rama Rao on the injustice done to the state by the Narendra Modi government at the Centre.
Sanjay, who addressed a rally in Ranga Reddy district, said he was ready to prove the allegations made by KTR wrong on the funds released by the Centre to the state, injustice done to the state in Krishna river water allocation and backwardness of erstwhile combined Mahabubnagar district.
Sanjay said he was ready to prove that the KCR government had signed an agreement with the Centre accepting the allocation of 299 tmc ft of water in Krishna river, as against the actual share of 575 tmc, in collusion with Andhra Pradesh.
He said he would stand by his earlier statement that the combined Mahabubnagar district was still drought-hit and looked like a desert and was ready to prove in front of the people of the district.
On KTR’s comments that the Centre was not releasing funds to Telangana and there was no contribution of central funds in the developmental works in the Telangana villages, Sanjay said he would prove each of these statements completely wrong.
He said if KCR had any shame, had blood of Telangana running through his veins and was a true Telanganite, he should come forward for a public debate.
“I will undertake padayatra for another four days in Ranga Reddy district. Let KCR come for a debate in public and prove who is right and who is wrong,” he said.
The BJP president said the TRS edifice was shaking on seeing the tremendous response to his padayatra. Making strong allegations against KCR, he said the TRS leaders were selling the “free” rice being given by the Modi government to the poor people.
“While the Modi government sanctioned 1.40 lakh houses to Telangana, how many double bedroom houses were sanctioned by the Telangana government? How many government jobs had KCR given to the unemployed?” he asked.
