Balayya Thanks Telangana CM KCR

Senior actor and TDP legislator from Hindupuram assembly constituency in Anantapur, Nandamuri Balakrishna, might be politically opposite to the TRS in Telangana, but has friendly relations with TRS president and CM KCR.

Balayya used to meet KCR whenever there was an opportunity.

He had also met the Telangana chief minister during the release of his film Gautami Putra Satakarni seeking permission for running additional shows in the theatres and KCR had readily obliged.

On Saturday, Balakrishna thanked KCR profusely for including a lesson on the life history of his father – legendary actor and TDP founder N T Rama Rao – the social studies text book in the revised syllabus for Class X in all the Telangana schools.

Describing this as a great decision, Balakrishna said NTR had brought a new recognition to the Telugu arts and culture.

“He had shaken the seat of power in New Delhi by highlighting the Telugu self-respect and pride. He was a people’s leader who took several bold and popular decisions and brought the administration to the doorstep of the common man. He was instrumental in highlighting the Telugu land on the map of India,” he said.

The senior actor said the inclusion of a chapter on the life history of NTR in the school curriculum would inspire the future generations.

“I wholeheartedly thank honourable chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and the Telangana government for taking this great decision,” Balayya said.

The chapter on NTR incorporated in the 268th page in the social studies book of Class 10 revealed how NTR gave up his lucrative film filed and established the Telugu Desam Party in 1982 to safeguard the Telugu pride which was humiliated by the Congress bosses in Delhi.

It also highlighted the welfare schemes introduced by NTR like Rs 2 a kg rice scheme and total prohibition.
