Even as the latest survey conducted by Aaraa group in Telangana has disclosed that Telangana Rashtra Samithi led by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will return to power if the assembly elections are held now, another survey conducted by another agency has come out with a more or less similar result.
Aatma Sakshi, an election survey agency, has disclosed that its latest survey has indicated that TRS will return to power for the third consecutive term, if the elections are immediately held, though with reduced number of seats and vote share.
The only difference between Aaraa and Atma Sakshi surveys is that while the first survey projected the Bharatiya Janata Party in the second position, the second survey said it is the Congress party which will come closer to the TRS in seats and votes if the elections are held now.
Stating that the competition would be mainly between the TRS and the Congress, the Atma Sakshi survey said the TRS is likely to win 56 to 59 seats out of 119 assembly seats, with a vote share of 39.5 percent.
The Congress will stand in the second position with 37 to 39 seats with 31.5 percent of votes and the BJP will end up in the third position with 14-16 seats and 21 percent vote share. The MIM will get 2.75 percent votes and others 3.25 percent votes.
The survey said in most of the districts, the contest will be mainly between the TRS and the Congress and in a few districts, there would be a triangular contest.
Aatma Sakshi claimed that it had taken 1.88 lakh samples for the survey and it was completed by June 30. The survey was done on various parameters, including welfare schemes, Dharani scheme, paddy purchase during the Rabi season, law and order, employment opportunities and administrative functioning of KCR.
The survey has apparently revealed that Dalit Bandhu scheme is going to hit the vote bank of the TRS, as the scheme is not being implemented properly. So is the case with other welfare schemes like fee reimbursement and Arogya Sri.
The TRS, however, still has the support of the OBCs, Dalits and minorities. The employees are said to be against the TRS.
The reason for the people not showing interest in the BJP is the TRS campaign against price rise, petrol prices hike, LPG cylinder prices increase and non-fulfilment of promises made by the Centre.
