More troubles are haunting Bharat Rashtra Samithi member of Telangana state legislative council and former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha in connection with the Delhi liquor policy scam.
A Delhi court on Friday allowed an application moved by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to question Kavitha within the Tihar jail in connection with the Delhi excise policy case.
Special Judge (PC Act) Kaveri Baweja of the Rouse Avenue Courts allowed CBI's plea to question Kavitha, who is presently in judicial custody.
The CBI moved the Delhi court stating that Kavitha is required to be examined in connection with the evidence which has surfaced during further investigation of the case in respect of her involvement in the matter.
The probe agency said that it wants to question Kavitha regarding chats recovered from Buchi Babu's (accountant associated to Kavitha) phone and documents related to a land deal post which Rs 100 crore bribes were allegedly paid to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in kickbacks.
Kavitha was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) which is probing the money laundering angle in the Delhi excise policy case. The BRS leader is currently in judicial custody.
The court had reserved its verdict on Kavitha's interim bail plea in the ED case and the order in that matter is slated to be pronounced on April 8.
