It looks like nothing is going in a right direction for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi led by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao these days.
Despite the high-voltage publicity on the occasion of KCR’s birthday to resurrect the party spirits, the negative talk among the people is spreading fast, causing more troubles for the party.
The murder of an advocate couple – Gattu Vaman Rao and Nagamani near Manthani in Peddapalli district on Wednesday, when the TRS ranks were celebrating KCR’s birthday in a big way, evoked loud protests from all sections of people.
Reason: the man who directly murdered Vaman Rao and his wife was TRS Manthani mandal president Kunta Srinu, who is also a close associate of former TRS MLA from Manthani Putta Madhukar. Though the police arrested Srinu within 24 hours, the damage had already been done to the TRS.
On Friday, the police also arrested Bittu Srinu, who allegedly provided the vehicle and weapons to Kunta Srinu to murder Vaman Rao and his wife. Bittu Srinu is also a TRS leader and he happens to be the nephew of Putta Madhu.
Now, the entire focus is on Putta Madhu, who is presently Peddapalli zilla parishad chairman, who has long enmity with Vaman Rao for exposing his irregularities in the court of law. In the dying moments, Vaman Rao also mentioned the name of Putta Madhu.
If the TRS leadership gives green signal, the police might as well arrest Putta Madhu. Whether action is taken against Madhu or not, the murders have definitely tarnished the image of the TRS in Peddapalli district and there is every possibility that the party might suffer heavy damages in the district in the next elections.
