A man from Telangana, Praneeth, who had gone to Canada to pursue his Master's degree, tragically drowned while swimming with friends in a lake in Toronto. The incident occurred while he was celebrating his birthday.
Praneeth, from Meerpet in Telangana, lost his life on his birthday.
His family has been informed, and his father has requested the government to expedite the process of bringing his son's body back to India.
Praneeth had moved to Canada in 2019 for his studies, while his elder brother relocated there in 2022.
A video showed Praneeth jumping into the lake, and another video captured him taking a selfie with friends on a motorboat.
"Both brothers, along with other friends, visited the lake to celebrate Praneeth's birthday on Saturday. On Sunday, they went swimming. While everyone returned, the younger one, Praneeth, did not," his grieving father shared with reporters.
