Speculations are doing rounds in the media and social media circles for the last few hours that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu might take part in the electioneering in Telangana for the ensuing assembly elections.
There was a report that Naidu might address a massive public meeting at Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad in November. Interestingly, he will share dais with AICC President Rahul Gandhi, besides Telangana Jana Samithi president M Kodandaram and other alliance partners. The report said the Congress leaders have requested Naidu to take part in the public meeting.
However, TDP sources said Naidu is not interested in addressing public meetings in Telangana, let alone sharing dais with Rahul Gandhi. Already, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders have been attacking Naidu in harshest words and trying to project it as a battle between Naidu and KCR. If Naidu takes part in the campaign, it will only fuel the Telangana sentiment in a big way.
So, Naidu would leave the battle field to the Telangana TDP leaders and extend moral and monetary support to their campaign. However, if there is so much compulsion and pressure from the TDP leaders, he might confine his rallies to a few pockets of Khammam and Nalgonda districts.
“But under any circumstances, Naidu will not poke his nose in the Telangana polls, forget about campaigning for Maha Kootami,” a party source said.
