Suspicions are going strong that Chandrababu maintains a connection with the Congress High Command even now, potentially facilitating the rise of Revanth Reddy in Telangana.
Working behind the scenes, he appears to be actively supporting Revanth Reddy's bid for the position of Chief Minister in Telangana, although there are only circumstantial indications to support these suspicions.
That's the reason he is also making some former TDP leaders join Congress. Thus he is planting his own men in Congress and also helping the party.
Reflecting on past events, it was Shiv Kumar from the Karnataka Congress who initially attempted to orchestrate the merger of Sharmila's YSRTP with Congress.
Despite several meetings, the merger ultimately fell through, with the Congress High Command deliberately distancing themselves from Sharmila.
The concealed force preventing the merger could possibly be Chandrababu Naidu, as it seems that the Congress High Command is receiving some form of support from him.
However, he has chosen to keep this covert affiliation with Congress concealed, likely due to apprehension regarding the BJP's high command. Hence, until the elections, CBN aims to downplay his association with Congress, only revealing it when the time is right.
Setting that aside, a notable incident occurred yesterday.
Revanth Reddy, who joined Congress a few years ago, openly criticized the senior Congress leader Ponnala Lakshmiah with disparaging and disrespectful remarks. Such behavior is not typically embraced within the Congress culture.
Revanth alleged that Ponnala lost in the previous election while serving as the PCC President. However, it's worth noting that Revanth Reddy himself lost in Kodangal during his tenure as the PCC President, making Ponnala no less significant than Revanth, and indeed, a senior figure. Not only on this point that Revanth ridiculed Ponnala, but on a whole with several disgraceful words.
How Revanth Reddy summoned the audacity to confront Ponnala remains a question. It seems that Chandrababu's influence on the Congress High Command is permitting Revanth Reddy a free hand, as he enjoys Chandrababu's backing.
Consequently, events within the Telangana Congress seem to unfold according to Chandrababu Naidu's wishes, rather than those of Sonia or Rahul. It doesn't mean that Chandrababu directed Revanth to target Ponnala, but it should be understood that Revanth's fearless speeches with free will is because of his less accountability to the Congress High Command as CBN is in between to deal.
The sole aim of the Congress High Command appears to be seeing their party's flag flying high in Telangana. To achieve this, they require assistance. Chandrababu, given his proximity to Revanth Reddy, has taken it upon himself to play this covert game, facilitating the Congress' ambitions.
Subsequently, Chandrababu's primary objective is to witness the Congress assuming power in Telangana, thereby potentially improving his own electoral prospects in Andhra Pradesh in the forthcoming elections, just six months away with the support of Revanth Reddy.
In essence, CBN strategically orchestrates his moves in such a manner that if Revanth Reddy secures the government in Telangana, it could potentially provide an advantage for the TDP in Andhra Pradesh. Even if he fails, he can have Telangana State to enjoy the indirect power with his own person Revanth being the CM.
Conversely, if the BRS emerges victorious, CBN fears that his influence in AP may wane, given the close relationship between BRS and YCP.
