Opinion: Rajendra Prasad Unqualified To Criticize Pushpa 2

Rajendra Prasad is a senior actor renowned for his impeccable performances in several films directed by Jandhyala, Vamshi and EVV Satyanarayana.

He has a strong fan following, and many households have considered him their favorite actor, especially during the 1980s and 1990s.

In recent years, he has transitioned into playing character roles, such as in the film Julayi, where he earned praise for his performance.

However, recently, he has made some controversial remarks that suggest a lack of thoughtful consideration.

His comment on Pushpa 2, in which he lamented that a smuggler as a hero and worried at the film's success, was quite shocking, especially considering that it appeared to insult Allu Arjun as well.

This brings to mind the age-old line, "Vruddhanaaree pativratha". Rajendra Prasad, now an elderly actor, may have played the role of a protagonist in his prime, but many of his past roles were not ideal or clean.

For example, in Ladies Tailor, he played a character who obsessively searched for a mole on women's thighs. Despite this, the film became a hit, reflecting the taste of audience of that time.

As an actor, Rajendra Prasad portrayed various roles, and not all of them were exemplary. In the world of commercial cinema, it's important to treat every role professionally, without imposing moral judgments.

Rajendra Prasad often appears intelligent and shrewd on screen because of the well-written dialogues given to him by screenwriters. However, in reality, his speeches have never been particularly impressive.

He either speaks in a shallow manner or makes controversial statements that draw attention for the wrong reasons.

Given his seniority in the industry, Rajendra Prasad should be more mindful of his public statements. Otherwise, he risks losing his admirers and may be remembered less fondly by his audience.
