Chandrababu was in power when he introduced Vision 2020, outlining his ambitious goals for the state. However, once the vision was unveiled, majority voters perceived him as not a leader for them, but catering only to the interests of some people. This led to his loss of power in 2004.
At that time, he couldn't have foreseen that he would lose his grip on power and spend a decade in opposition. He certainly didn't anticipate the unprecedented defeat his party faced in 2019. It's a reminder that sometimes those who cannot perceive immediate realities may struggle to foresee events in the 25 years to come. That's the irony.
Chandrababu 'envisioned' that the Andhra voters in Telangana would only vote for TDP and so BJP is behind him for an alliance. But that didn't happen.
Even in Andhra, where the TDP holds a significant stake, an alliance with BJP remains uncertain, and there is no clarity on the Janasena partnership as well.
Chandrababu cannot tell how many seats will be allocate to Janasena in case of allaince and who are the candidates.
It's intriguing how Chandrababu who cannot predict events a few months ahead claim the ability to forecast two decades into the future.
He may say that these are all political shifts, whereas Vision 2020 outlined technical aspects. However, any plan necessitates political power for its execution. Such visions can also be made by common man.
The origin of Vision 2020 lies in a document drafted by McKinsey, commissioned with Rs. 2.5 crore of government funds, spanning 337 pages. Nonetheless, their responsibility does not encompass implementation; it requires empowered individuals to carry it out.
Looking at all this, the voters may say to put the five years election manifesto before them first than the 25 years Vision. Vision 2047 of Chandrababu is taken as a disgust by many and as a joke by some.
