Around 90% of the allegations against the ruling party are typically handled by key party members who act as protective shields for the Prime Minister at the Center or Chief Minister in any state. This phenomenon is common for leaders like Narendra Modi at the Center, Stalin in Tamil Nadu, Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal, and KCR in Telangana.
Usually, the day-to-day matters are managed by ministers and MLAs, and only about 10% of situations require the direct involvement of the national or state leaders.
However, it is unfortunate that Jagan Mohan Reddy lacks sufficient supporters who serve as a protective shield for him. With only a handful of party members willing to defend his image, the majority seem to be ineffective or mute when it comes to countering the opposition's allegations with strong speeches.
As a result, Jagan Mohan Reddy finds himself compelled to personally address the allegations from opposition party leaders, indicating a failure on his part to create a robust support system.
This could be attributed to his questionable choices in assigning positions within the party. For instance, keping the able leaders like Alla Ramakrishna Reddy at bay and giving a ministerial post to Vidadala Rajani, who is a poor orator and facing corruption allegations, raises concerns about Jagan's ability to recognize talent.
Similarly, keeping sharp tongues like Kodali Nani without a ministry before elections might have contributed to a lack of motivation among potential supporters like him to go above and beyond their roles to back their leader. Despite some party members claiming to be devoted to Jagan Mohan Reddy without seeking power, he should take their declarations with skepticism.
Using an analogy, one could say that Jagan Mohan Reddy confined all the lion-like leaders to a cage, while releasing rat-like individuals of less influence into the political jungle. This has allowed the fox-like opponents to easily target and attack Jagan Mohan Reddy.
In addition to the lack of a robust support system, Jagan Mohan Reddy has also failed to control media channels around him. Comparatively, he could learn from leaders like KCR of the neighboring state who have been more successful in shutting the mouths of media those rattle against him with personal allegations.
Jagan Mohan Reddy's approach seems to rely heavily on faith in God and the support of poor voters while leaving other aspects to chance. Ultimately, only the election results will determine if his approach proves to be right or wrong.
