Chandrababu Naidu has made historical record as a politician. So far we've all witnessed politicians promising reduced prices of essential goods during election campaigns. However, TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu takes it a step further by pledging to lower liquor prices and ensure better quality of alcohol supply if elected. Isn't this ludicrous?
While his opponent, Jagan Mohan Reddy, focuses on saying about improving education and healthcare, Chandrababu talks about cheaper, higher-quality liquor. He even mentions how younger men cheer for him when he talks about alcohol. Isn't this demeaning enough?
He said, "Prices of all commodities have skyrocketed, including liquor. Our young men cheer when I mention liquor. They want lower liquor prices. It was Jagan Mohan Reddy who increased the price from Rs 60 to Rs 200 for a bottle. I would see the prices are reduced if given power".
Jagan Mohan Reddy hinted at increasing liquor prices to discourage consumption. But Chandrababu seems to think differently. He seems unconcerned about public health. He hasn't mentioned his ideas of improving healthcare or education facilities in the state. Instead, he emphasizes liquor prices, reminiscent of Nutan Prasad's Satanic character from the 1980s film "Rajadhi Raju."
While leaders usually talk about reducing the negative impact of liquor on society, Chandrababu does the opposite. It's concerning to see this so-called visionary leader lacking basic common sense in his campaign speeches. Such statements could easily anger female voters.
Even in movie theaters, there are disclaimers and statutory warnings against liquor. So why is Chandrababu taking it lightly and engaging in "liquor politics" in hopes of gaining votes?
Chandrababu's own weaknesses and ineffective actions, rather than external factors, are what undermine his position and lead to his decline.
