Telugu Desam Party leaders, who have been looking for issues to attack the YSR Congress party government in Andhra Pradesh led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy right from the day one, have been trying to take maximum political mileage out of existing sand crisis in the state.
For the last few days, the TDP leaders are using every opportunity to highlight the sand shortage and criticise the Jagan government.
They are also not sparing weddings to politicise the shortage of sand in the state.
A couple of days ago, the TDP leaders adopted a novel way to project the sand crisis in the state.
At Kotha Talarivanipalem of Anakapalle mandal in Visakhapatnam, local TDP leader Talari Kasi Naidu, who heads the youth wing of the party in Anakapalle, presented a container of “sand” as a wedding gift to the newly-wed couple – Mamidi Poornachandra Rao and Bharati.
Apparently, Kasi Naidu presented a container of sand to the couple to highlight the fact that sand has now become a rare and costliest commodity in the state like gold and its price is skyrocketing due to severe shortage.
His presentation caught the attention of the guests who went into laughter. The photograph of the TDP leader gifting sand to the couple has gone viral in social media platforms as well.
