It was only last week that political strategist and founder of Indian Political Action Committee Prashant Kishor made a statement in Hyderabad denying the reports that he would be joining politics soon.
He also made it clear that he would be stepping out of the I-PAC, indicating that he would no more be a part of the campaign strategies for YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
He also made it clear that would not work for any other party as a political strategist. Instead, he said he would work for the uplift of weaker sections in states like Bihar and Gujarat.
But on Sunday, Prashant sprang a surprise by declaring that he would be joining the Janata Dal (United) headed by Nitish Kumar.
He said he was very much excited to begin a new journey with active politics.
Party sources said he would be given formal party membership by Nitish later in the evening.
Now, the question is how Prashant’s joining the JD (U) would impact the YSR Congress party. Sources say Prashant, because of his association with Jagan, would play a key role in bringing the YSRC into the fold of National Democratic Alliance led by Bharatiya Janata Party in 2019 general elections.
May be, he would also be helping the YSRC by arranging party funds from the Centre to defeat the TDP, sources said.
