Perhaps for the first time after becoming the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is said to be hosting a christmas grand party for all his relatives at Idupulapaya on Thursday night.
According to sources, Jagan has sent invites to all his relatives – including his maternal and paternal uncles, cousins, relatives of his in-laws and others closer to his family and friends for a huge reception at YSR estate.
Apparently, the party is said to be an attempt on the part of Jagan to keep his relatives in good humour. Many of these relatives have been said to be unhappy that Jagan has been neglecting them after becoming the chief minister.
Except those who have already been in political positions like Y V Subba Reddy, Y S Avinash Reddy and Balineni Srinivas Reddy etc, Jagan has not been entertaining any relatives, fearing that they might misuse the power and bring him a bad name.
He reportedly told them not to come to Secretariat or the CMO at any cost but assured them that he would help them if they have any genuine need. Since then, most of Jagan’s relatives have been maintaining a very low profile.
There were reports that even within his close family circles, there has been resentment against Jagan for ignoring his own people. “Perhaps, Jagan wants to appease them and convince them about his limitations as the chief minister,” sources said.
