According to a new report from Informa Connect Academy, which forecasts trillionaire status based on average annual wealth growth, Tesla CEO Elon Musk is likely to become the world's first trillionaire.
Currently the richest person globally, with a net worth of $251 billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Musk is projected to hit trillionaire status by 2027, assuming his wealth continues to grow at an annual rate of 110%.
India's Gautam Adani, founder of the Adani Group, is predicted to be the second trillionaire, reaching the milestone by 2028 if he maintains his recent growth rate of 123%.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, whose wealth has soared from $3 billion to over $90 billion in the past five years, is also expected to reach trillionaire status by 2028, provided his wealth continues growing at an average rate of 112%. Nvidia's stock is already up 115% this year, following a threefold increase last year.
Next on the list is Indonesia’s Prajogo Pangestu, founder of Barito Pacific, an energy and mining conglomerate. The report predicts he could become a trillionaire by 2028.
LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault, the world’s third-richest person with just under $200 billion, rounds out the top five. He, along with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, is projected to reach trillionaire status by 2030.
More than 100 years after the first billionaire emerged, the first trillionaire could be crowned in the next decade.
