Telangana has created a buzz at Davos with the announcement of 16 major agreements, attracting ₹1,64,050 crore in investments and promising 47,550 jobs (some reports suggest 1.79 lakh jobs).
Among the agreements, Sun Petro Chemicals plans to set up large-scale pumped storage hydro and solar power projects in Nagar Kurnool, Mancherial, and Mulugu districts, with a capacity of 3,400 MW for hydro and 5,440 MW for solar power. The investment is ₹45,500 crore, providing 7,000 jobs.

Suhana Masala and Eco Factory Foundation are setting up a new excellence center next to their existing plant in Sangareddy.
While Telangana has successfully created an investment-friendly image, questions remain about the actual implementation of these agreements.
There are also doubts surrounding Megha Engineering’s deals and reports suggesting that the Sun Petro Chemicals agreement was signed with someone other than CEO Dilip Shanghvi, with similar agreements reportedly signed with Bihar earlier.
Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh, despite Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh leading a large delegation to Davos, no major investment agreements were announced except for the deal with Telugu-owned Greenko.
Some argue that signing MoUs at Davos isn't essential, but in the past, similar events were touted as major achievements.
Whether these investments materialize in Telangana or not, the Telangana government has managed to create an optimistic atmosphere.
Andhra Pradesh, on the other hand, could have at least announced a few agreements for publicity purposes.
Supporters of BRS might soon claim that KCR's governance has led to Telangana attracting such large-scale investments, while Andhra Pradesh continues to struggle to replicate the same success.
