TCS Employee Kills Self, Blames Wife In Video

TCS Employee Kills Self, Blames Wife In Video

A techie from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, allegedly died by suicide earlier this week, leaving behind a distressing video blaming his wife of one year.

The deceased, Manav Sharma, an employee at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), was found hanging in his home on February 24, officials said.

According to police, Sharma’s sister discovered the video on his phone two days after his death.

In the seven-minute-long recording, Sharma, with a noose around his neck, accused his wife of infidelity.

"This is for the authorities. The law needs to protect men, or there will be a time when there will be no men left to blame. My wife was involved with another man... But what can I do? It does not matter anymore."

After a brief pause, he added: "I don’t have a problem with dying. I want to go. Please think about men. I’m sorry, everyone. Please, someone should talk about men. They become very lonely. Everything will get better once I go. I have attempted suicide before."

Shortly after the video surfaced, Sharma’s wife, Nikita, responded with a counter-video, denying the allegations and accusing her husband of domestic abuse.

"The day he died by suicide, he had dropped me at my maternal home. His claims are about my past, not after our marriage. He has attempted to harm himself multiple times before, and I stopped him at least three times. He used to drink and beat me," she stated.

She also claimed to have informed his parents about his mental state, but they did not intervene.

"I had told his parents everything, but they said it was between husband and wife. They stayed for two days and left. I even called his sister, informing her about his suicide attempts. She told me to go to sleep, saying he wouldn’t do anything."

Police confirmed that a complaint was filed against Nikita after Sharma’s sister found the video accusing her.

"The incident occurred on February 24. Manav Sharma’s body was taken to the Army hospital for a post-mortem. We did not receive any complaint that day. However, a case was registered after the family found the video on his phone. His wife has denied the allegations, and further investigation is underway," a senior official said.

The case has drawn comparisons to the recent suicide of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash, a 34-year-old deputy general manager at a private firm, who died by suicide in December, leaving behind a 24-page note accusing his wife and her relatives of harassment.
