India is home to 1,539 individuals with a net worth of Rs 1,000 crore or more, with Maharashtra leading the pack.
This elite list includes notable names like Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, whose net worth is estimated at Rs 7,300 crore.
Maharashtra stands at the forefront with 470 people with net worth more than Rs 1000 Cr, nearly doubling its 2020 count of 248.
The national capital, Delhi, follows closely with 213 wealthy individuals, up from 128 in 2020.
Other states, including Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana, have also witnessed a significant increase in high-net-worth individuals.
Telangana has 109 individuals who are worth more than Rs 1000 Cr. This is a steep increase from 54 of 2020.
In contrast, Andhra Pradesh has only 9 individuals with a net worth exceeding Rs 1,000 crore.
So, Telangana and AP put together, we can say that 118 individuals are worth more than Rs 1000 Cr.
Interestingly, regions like West Bengal, Haryana, and Rajasthan have more than doubled their number of rich listers in recent years, showcasing rapid economic growth and wealth accumulation across the country.
This rise in wealthy individuals highlights India’s expanding economy and growing opportunities for wealth creation, solidifying the nation’s position as a hub for global business and entrepreneurship.
Analysts attribute this growth to the robust increase in share market value, a rising Sensex, and a sustained bull market in India over the past five years.
