New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday staged a strong protest outside the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, condemning the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that claimed the lives of 26 civilians.
The protest was held to denounce Pakistan’s alleged role in supporting cross-border terrorism and to demand immediate action from the international community.
Senior BJP leaders and scores of party workers gathered near the high-security diplomatic area of Chanakyapuri, holding placards, waving national flags, and shouting slogans against Pakistan.
The atmosphere was charged with emotion as demonstrators expressed their anger over the repeated loss of innocent lives due to terror attacks believed to be orchestrated from across the border.
The BJP, in a statement, accused Pakistan of continuing to harbor and support terrorist organizations that target India.
The party said the recent attack was a grim reminder of the persistent threat posed by terrorism and called on the government to take decisive measures to ensure national security.
Security around the area was heightened, with a heavy police presence to prevent any untoward incidents.
The protest remained peaceful, though impassioned, with leaders vowing to continue their agitation until there is visible action taken against terror networks operating from Pakistan.
The incident has led to growing public outrage, and the BJP’s protest is seen as a reflection of the national sentiment demanding justice and accountability.
The party has also urged the Indian government to re-evaluate diplomatic and strategic relations with Pakistan in light of the recurring attacks.
The protest concluded with the submission of a memorandum at the Pakistan High Commission, urging the neighboring country to stop supporting terrorism and warning of further political pressure if the attacks do not cease.
