If reports coming from the YSR Congress party camp are to be believed, the party has conveyed to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi leadership not to campaign for it directly in the forthcoming assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.
It is learnt YSRC leaders have felt that the TRS interference in Andhra Pradesh politics during the elections would do more damage than good to their party.
“Just like the people of Telangnaa did not appreciate the campaign by Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu in the assembly elections there, the people of Andhra also will not take it kindly the TRS campaign in Andhra,” a YSRC source said.
May be a few people might be giving a lot of hype to TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao here and there, it is not the case with large sections of people, who have not forgotten the language KCR had used against Andhra during the Telangana agitation.
“Just like Naidu’s campaign not only backfired on it but also damaged the prospects of the Congress party, the TRS campaign might also backfire on the YSRC and that is what the party has conveyed to the TRS leadership,” the source said.
That could be the reason why TRS working president K T Rama Rao said that his party doesn't need to go to AP to play a role in its politics. So, the “return gift” which KCR has been talking about would not mean he would campaign for YSRC in AP elections, just as Naidu had done in Telangana.
“KCR can screw up the happiness of Naidu sitting in Hyderabad. His regular attack on Naidu would send a strong message to the people of Andhra that the latter had failed in his governance,” a TRS source said.
