If the speculations going on in a section of media are true, ruling YSR Congress party MP Narasaraopet Lavu Krishna Devarayalu is looking towards the Telugu Desam Party to test his political fortunes.
Devarayalu, who has been keeping away from the YSRC party activities of late and not attending any of the party programmes in his constituency, was seen hobnobbing with the TDP MPs in Lok Sabha lobbies in New Delhi on Tuesday, instead of with the YSRC MPs.
Later, Devarayalu went to the residence of TDP MP Kesineni Nani, along with other friends for lunch. He also posed for photographs with the TDP MPs – Kesineni, Galla Jayadev and Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu.
However, there were MPs from other parties as well – including Supriya Sule of the NCP, Dhairya Sheel Mane of Shiv Sena, DMK MP Kanimozhi and two others. The photograph was shared by a DMK MP in the social media.
Though there is nothing unusual in MPs of various parties come together in Delhi, the presence of YSRC MP in the residence of a TDP MP has certainly raised many eyebrows. It remains to be seen how YSRC president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy would react to it.
But it is an open secret in YSRC that Devarayalu has not been active in the party activities. He was conspicuous by his absence at the Samajika Nyaya Bheri bus yatra of the state ministers and he did not even attend their public meeting at his own constituency of Narsaraopet.
He has not been getting along well with the MLAs of his party falling under his parliamentary constituency, including newly-inducted minister Vidadala Rajini, who represents Chilakaluripet constituency and Bolla Brahma Naidu of Vinukonda.
Though Krishna Devarayalu enjoys a good name because of his non-controversial nature, his differences with the local leaders distanced him from the party. It remains to be seen whether he will really jump the fence into the TDP.
