It is a known fact that YSR Congress party MLA from Chandragiri constituency in Chittoor district Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy is a bitter opponent of the Telugu Desam Party and its president N Chandrababu Naidu.
But, on Friday evening, Chevireddy came in support of local TDP MP N Sivaprasad’s daughter Dr Madhavi Latha, when she staged a dharna on the Tirupati main road in protest against the high-handed behaviour of a local influential person. He not only extended moral support to her, but also argued with the police to do justice to her.
It all happened when Madhavi Latha’s driver sounded horn when a car in front of her vehicle blocked her way. Instead of giving the way, a person named Deepu allegedly abused her driver.
When she tried to come to the rescue of her driver stating that she is the daughter of an MP, he became reckless and abused her also in the name of her caste. Apparently, Deepu was the nephew of the local excise commissioner.
A shocked Madhavi along with her family members staged dharna on the road demanding action against the person. Interestingly, Chevireddy also came there and extended support to the TDP MP’s daughter and condemned the police inaction.
Meanwhile, police on the basis of his vehicle number nabbed him at Chandragiri and shifted to Tirupati East police station.
