Narsaraopeta: The town of Narsaraopet was flooded with Jagan and YSRCP followers for the public meet held on Thursday night.
Jagan has been holding meetings at various places in Seemandhra as a part of Janabheri. Though Jagan arrived late at the venue, many party workers and his followers waited patiently to listen to their leader.
In the same tone that he has maintained over the past few days, Jagan was all praise for his late father Rajasekhar Reddy’s governance and launched scathing criticism on the Congress and other opposition parties for facilitating bifurcation of the state for political gains.
He said late YSR lived in the hearts of people and said that his regime was the golden era for the state. Though one did not see Ramarajyam, he said YSR bettered the lives of many poor people all over the state.
Jagan reminded the gathering that it was YSR who introduced the fee reimbursement scheme to make sure that at least one person from a poor family would go for higher studies. He also said that people are aware that being a doctor himself, YSR introduced 108 to provide medical aid to the poor.
Jagan said that the present state of politics in the state was similar to a game of chess. He criticized various political parties for shredding the state into pieces for votes and seats.
Jagan also said that Chandra Babu Naidu could stoop down to any level for power and position.
While Babu belonged to the old school of politicians, Jagan said he represented the future. It’s not important for how long one lives, but it is important what one does in one’s life time that matters most, he said. If voted to power, Jagan promised to launch at least four welfare schemes that would make late YSR proud.
During the forthcoming elections, the fight would be between the hegemonistic rulers in New Delhi and the self respect of Telugu people Jagan claimed. He called upon people to stand by him to teach a lesson to forces that separated the state.
Jagan got good response from those gathered.
