That the BJP is confident of making a strong base and emerge as a major Party in Andhra Pradesh was reaffirmed by the statement of P Muralidhar Rao.
Muralidhar Rao is the BJP’s national general secretary and he said that the BJP would contest the elections in AP the next time alone without any alliance with the TDP.
Even Ram Madhav of the BJP recently said the same thing! However, despite such blatant expressions of intent by the BJP, it is unlikely that the TDP will take any action for the time being as the TDP needs the BJP whereas the BJP can now do without the TDP.
Chandrababu needs the support of the BJP for his new capital city and other projects. If he is to emerge unscathed from all the controversies of land pooling, loan waivers etc and still have his way, he definitely cannot do without support from the BJP.
The saffron party meanwhile is in the enviable position of strengthening itself in AP at the expense of the TDP and then choose to discard the TDP at the appropriate time.
