For the last few days, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi has changed its strategy of attacking only the Congress party. Instead, it is now targeting the Telugu Desam Party, particularly its president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
By attacking Naidu and projecting him as “Telangana Drohi,” the TRS is aiming at hitting two birds at one shot.
It wants to kick up the Telangana sentiment again and also exposing the Congress party for joining hands with a Telangana drohi for the sake of power.
The open letter written by Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Tuesday to Telangana PCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy is primarily aimed at whipping up the Telangana sentiment and exposing the unholy alliance between the Congress and the TDP.
In his letter, Harish Rao raised a dozen questions stating that they were the genuine doubts being expressed by Telangana people and the Congress should clarify the same.
He sought to know whether the Congress-TDP alliance was based on any conditions or just a shameless and opportunistic tie-up.
“In 2009, we had an alliance with the TDP on the condition of fighting for Telangana. What are your conditions for the tie-up with the TDP now? In the last four years, it was clearly proved that Naidu is a Telangana Drohi and has been working against the sentiments of Telangana people,” he said.
Harish asked whether the TDP had given up its anti-Telangana stand.
“Did Naidu give any assurance that he had left his anti-Telangana attitude? Has he assured to return the seven mandals back to Telangana?
“Did Chandrababu Naidu give any assurance that he would make changes in the design of Polavaram project?
“Did Naidu agree to withdraw his 30 letters written to the Centre opposing Palamuru project? Did he take back the letters he had written opposing Kaleshwaram and Sitarama projects?” he asked.
Harish said that the people of Telangana would not appreciate the alliance of the Congress and the TDP.
He said that there was no TDP in Telangana and hence Naidu was coming in the mask of the Congress party.
