Wonder What They Learnt For Rs 10 Lakh?

On one hand, the Andhra Pradesh government has been talking of being frugal as far as its expenses are concerned. On the other, it has been splurging money when it chooses.

One such incident was the training classes conducted for AP MLAs and MLCs. AP government had decided that no meetings would be held in 5-Star hotels.

But the training classes were conducted at Grand Kakatiya in Begumpet. And it is being said that an amount of Rs 10 lakh was spent for the entire event. Now, the classes too haven’t been very useful confide the insiders.

Incidentally, AP Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao took the initiative to conduct the training sessions. But the MLAs and MLCs were not particularly interested in what the main speakers had to say, confide those who attended the sessions.

In particular, the MLA count was very low when Lok Sabha’s ex-Secretary General Subhash Kashyap was supposed to speak. Worse still was the fact that the ruling party TDP’s MLAs turned up in low numbers. Also, most of them reportedly left the classes once Chandra Babu left the venue. And when Babu came back, the MLAs too followed suit.

Meanwhile, the YSRCP members complained about not being treated as per protocol and this led to some discomfort among those conducting classes and those attending them.

Apparently, some senior ministers were heard saying that simply by holding a few classes, things are not bound to change drastically.

Well, we are not sure how much the MLAs and MLCs learnt from these sessions, but the government did end up splurging Rs 10 lakhs.
