Will You Jump Into The Sea As Well?

Bowing to the pressure from the State government employees, KCR announced a salary hike of a whopping 43% to them by way of fitment. This has motivated their Andhra counterparts to come up with a similar demand.

“We have been waiting for this for a long time. The recommendations of the 10th ‘Pay Revision Commission’ (PRC) should be implemented immediately,” said U Muralikrishna, President of the AP Secretariat Employees Association.

The demand of the AP employees may be justified, but not its timing. As of now, there is no money to pay the employees even their present salary.

Telangana has a surplus budget thanks to the hard work of the Seemandhra people in Hyderabad whereas AP has a deficit running into nearly Rs 17000 crore.

In such a scenario, shouldn’t the AP employees give the government some time to settle down instead of blackmailing it? ‘Telangana gave it so you should also give it immediately’ is a wrong approach. If the employees of Telangana all go and jump into the sea, will the AP employees follow suit?
