The Assembly sessions of Andhra Pradesh Assembly are rather one-sided and anyone watching the proceedings on television can spot that within minutes.
Since there is no other opposition party apart from YSR Congress in AP, the situation has worsened as the onus of ‘opposing’ the ruling party has fallen solely on its president YS Jagan.
Now, YSR Congress too has no option as there are not many strong speakers in the party and Jagan likes to talk about important issues himself.
So, when Jagan got up to talk today, Chandra Babu Naidu immediately got up and tried to talk in between. This happened twice and instead of talking about Pattiseema project, Babu took on Sakshi newspaper and spoke about Godavari Authority.
Babu also went on to demand that since Jagan happens to be the owner of Sakshi, he must reply to his accusations. So, YSRCP members walked up to the Speaker’s podium in protest.
But that was only the beginning. What started with Babu was carried forward by various TDP leaders like Achche Naidu, Ravela Kishore, MLAs Surya Rao, Sravana Kumar among others.
All of them severely criticized YSRCP and any TDP member who wanted the mike was provided one to carry forward the tirade.
Well, it is understandable as the party is in power. But after a brief lull, when Jagan got to speak once again, Babu got up and tried to cut him short.
Once again, the YSRCP members dashed to the Speaker’s podium, only to be told that he cannot stop the leader of the House from talking. Then, Dhulipala Narendra took over and continued criticizing YSRCP vehemently.
Just like TDP MLA Revanth Reddy is singled out and not allowed to talk in Telangana Assembly, Jagan too isn’t being allowed to open his mouth and talk for a few minutes about any public concern.
Even as the ruling TDP members continued lashing out at YSRCP, YSCRP members started raising slogans even though they were not given any mikes.
As the ruckus continued, after a while, Speaker Kodela announced that the session was being adjourned.
