In Andhra Pradesh, there are three giant killers who defeated the prominent leaders in the 2019 general elections.
Two of them have defeated Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, while the third one defeated TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh in the elections.
It was expected that at least two of them would make it to the cabinet in the first term itself, but they missed the bus.
Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, who defeated Lokesh at Mangalagiri was the frontrunner for the cabinet berth in the first batch itself. However, he could not make it and it is expected that this time, Alla would be the new face to enter the cabinet.
Between the two other MLAs, who defeated Jana Sena chief, at least one would make it to the cabinet this time, as sources say.
Tippala Nagi Reddy defeated Pawan Kalyan at Gajuwaka constituency in Visakhapatnam by a margin of 16,573 votes.
Though he lost the election twice in 2009 as Independent candidate and in 2014 as the YSR Congress candidate, Nagi Reddy won the 2019 election defeating Pawan Kalyan.
It is widely said that Nagi Reddy would be able to make it to the cabinet this time.
The two-time MLA from Bhimavaram, Grandhi Srinivas is also said as probable candidate to make it to the cabinet this time.
Srinivas defeated Pawan Kalyan at Bhimavaram in the 2019 general elections. He defeated the Jana Sena chief by a margin of 8,357 votes.
It is also said that the chief minister is in favour of Grandhi Srinivas to be in the cabinet representing the West Godavari district, particularly the Kapu community.
