The TDP is likely to take a united stand once the T Bill is tabled in the Parliament, if one is to go by the comments made by TD Parliamentary party leader Nama Nageswara Rao.
He has clearly suggested that there would be no change in Party’s stand on Telangana and said that the Party would strive to protect the interests of the Seemandhra people, while keeping in mind the interests of people from both the regions.
It is likely that the TDP will make its next move based on the strategy of BJP.
Opposition leader and TDP head Chandra Babu Naidu refrained from commenting on the T Bill in the Assembly and blamed the opposition for conspiring against him to prevent him from making any comments.
This has drawn flak from various sections. There is wide spread opinion that Chandra Babu is trying to confuse himself and the people by supporting bifurcation on one hand and then faulting it on the other.
The AP Reorganisation Bill 2013 will be introduced in the Parliament in the coming session.
If the party legislators vote based on regional differences, then the Party is likely to draw flak once again.
Similarly, the Party will be in a tight spot if its legislators choose to vote by splitting into two groups.
However, it remains to be seen if the Party sees this as the only option.
