Will Kodandaram Become Another Kejriwal?

Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram is planning to convert his organisation into a political forum like Aam Admi Party which later turned into a full-fledged party to capture power in Delhi.

He gave a hint to this effect while interacting with a Telugu news channel on Sunday. The retired Osmania University professor, who has been waging a silent war against Telangana Rashtra Samithi government headed by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao initially, has come out more openly in the recent past, making direct attack on KCR.

His proposed rally in Hyderabad on February 22, demanding filling up of job vacancies in the state, is virtually shaking the KCR government and any kind of violence on that day would be a big setback for the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

Kodandaram told the news channel that KCR had forgotten the aspirations of the people that were reflected during the Telangana movement. While appreciating the role of KCR in the movement, he said it was the reason why the TRS chief could become the chief minister.

“But he has become impatient when people like me started exposing his inability to implement the promises he had made during the movement. The fact that he is becoming impatient itself shows there is something wrong with him,” he said.

He said there was a need to build an alternative political forum in the state on the lines of Aam Admi Party of Delhi.

“It is still in the nascent stage. How and when it takes shape will be decided in future,” Kodandaram said.
