Will Kiran Raise Self Awakening Slogan?

Will Kiran Raise Self Awakening Slogan?

Is CM Kiran Kumar Reddy trying to be another Indira Gandhi?

There are talks doing rounds that Kiran Kumar Reddy is trying to improve his chances in the forthcoming elections by resorting to the tactics that were followed by late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, regarding the Telangana issue.

In 1969, when Indira Gandhi had differences with senior syndicated leaders such as Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy, Nigalingappa and Kamaraj Nadar regarding the election of the president, she fielded VV Giri as an independent candidate and got him to defeat Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy.

Though the Congress party was not on her side totally, she struck an alliance with other small parties and got voted to power. Later, she made sure the entire party was on her side. During that time, she raised the slogan of self awakening.

Similarly, it is being said that Kiran Kumar Reddy is trying to attract a majority of Seemandhra leaders into his fold by going against the High Command on the Telangana issue.

In all probability, many say that Kiran Kumar Reddy would be bidding good bye to the Congress by January 23 or the end of this month.

So, it is said that his strategy is to float his own party in keeping with the self awakening slogan and draw as many Congress leaders into it.

However, first, Kiran Kumar Reddy will be writing a letter to the President asking him to extend the time for resolution on T Bill. If that does not fall through, he is likely to take swift action, say party insiders.

Will Kiran Kumar Reddy’s self awakening slogan work out in his favour?
