At a time when the entire country is facing unrest from all sections people on the ban of 500 and 1000 rupee notes and almost all the political parties have come out with statements either in support of or against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision, YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is yet to come out with any statement.
Though his party leaders have made statements on the problems being faced by the people, they are not very strong or critical of the Centre. At the same time, they have not even issued a statement supporting the move.
A couple of leaders like Roja and Bhumana Karunakar Reddy sought to turn tables on Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu saying that he had got the hint of the decision much earlier so that he could divert all his black money.
Yet, Jagan remained silent. The TDP leaders are trying to create an impression that Jagan was too shocked with the decision to make any statement. They have alleged that Jagan was negotiating with his auditors to find out ways to convert his black money into white.
At a time when the people are up in arms against the move, it is time Jagan comes out with a statement either for or against the decision. Otherwise, it will send wrong signals to his supporters.
