'Will Be King, Not Kingmaker'

'Will Be King, Not Kingmaker'

Telangana Jana Samiti president Prof M Kodandaram on Wednesday ruled out the possibility of a hung assembly situation in Telangana in 2019 elections as has happened in Karnataka in the recent elections.

“In Karnataka, there was a hung assembly because the people did not have complete faith in any party. But in Telangana, there is no such a chance. People have complete clarity on voting out the TRS government,” Kodandaram told media.

He said his party would not have alliances with any other party in the forthcoming elections but contest all the seats.

Asked whether he would emerge as a king maker in the next elections, he said: “Why king maker? We shall be the king in the next elections. We shall win majority of seats and come to power,” he said.

Referring to the Karnataka Assembly elections results, Kodandaram said, “The national parties could not satisfy the wishes of the people of Karnataka and hence the conclusion that such results were there. The petrol prices were demanded to be brought under the GST.”

He further said, “We are ready to compete in the local bodies' elections and that many had applied for the competition. It is debatable to express confidence in the lack of alliances and the willingness to come to power in Telangana.”
